Here are the steps we take with every rug coming into our rug cleaning studio:
1 - Fully inspect your rug and test for possible dye bleeding.

3 - Full vacuum out loose soil.
4 - Pre-treat your area rug to loosen stubborn soils and spots.
5 - Apply any specialized stain treatments based on type of soiling.

7 - Treat any spots not removed in the original cleaning.
8 - Brush out your rug to soften and restore the nap
